From a first glance, the stunning dual-colour body style turns heads, with a choice of Rioja Red, Satin White and several other dazzling shades. The 208 GTi's wheels are fitted with specialist Michelin tyres and increase to an 18-inch diameter from the original specification. The ride height is also noticeably closer to the ground. Twin exhaust pipes feature at the rear of the car, underneath special 'Renault Sport' badging. You can also admire the chequered flag design of the front grille and red front brake callipers, confirming exactly where the inspiration for this sporty hatchback began.
Tactile and soft Alcantara covers the ergonomic 'bucket-style’ front sports seats, which all feature further Renault Sport branding and bright red stitch finishes. An i-Cockpit arrangement in the front ensures all main controls and dials are in the ideal position for greater visibility on the move. The GTi by Peugeot Sport offers hands-free Bluetooth connectivity for staying in touch on the move and a 'heads-up' instrument panel display, putting key drive information in your direct field of vision.
Peugeot Sport has exclusively developed a 1.6-litre petrol engine for the model, partnered with a six-speed manual transmission. The engine generates a blistering 208bhp and 300Nm of torque, taking you from 0-60mph in less than seven seconds. Strong on-road performance is balanced by the GTi's overall efficiency levels. As much as 52.3mpg combined can be achieved, enabling you to enjoy the pacy acceleration and sporty handling over even more miles. The Peugeot Sport model is also attractively 'green', cutting emissions to a low of 125g/km.
Underneath the bold design and array of new features, the 208 remains an exceptionally safe car to drive. ABS and the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) are always on hand, boosted by new anti-skid technology. The ESP has also been precisely adjusted for the model, identically to the suspension system. In the unlikely event of an impact, six airbags can activate for support.
